LINCOLN PARK — Greg Tittle has been in the construction industry for more than half his 41 years. He started Tittle Brothers Construction in 2002 and business is so good, he’s now looking to expand.
Kevin (left), Greg and Carrie Tittle run Tittle Brothers Construction, which Greg opened in 2002 in Lincoln Park.
“We are opening a new 4,500-square-foot sales and home improvement showroom on Fort Street in Southgate next year,” he said.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is slated for April.
“I’m very excited about it,” Tittle said. “It’s going to be a state-of-the-art showroom, with plenty of room for new products and sales reps. Everybody’s asking when it will open.”
The original Lincoln Park building will remain open for dispatch operations and administrative purposes.
Although the economy has affected every industry across the board, Tittle said his company is reaping the rewards of people choosing to improve rather than sell their homes.
“It’s more affordable to fix them up,” he said.
Tittle said his business has grown 20 percent to 30 percent every year.
Tittle, who has lived Downriver all of his life, said although a lot of other construction companies are moving to Oakland County, he made a conscious decision to stay Downriver and expand.
“We’re staying put and giving back to our local economy,” he said.
Tittle is proud of the fact that his company is one of the few around that does construction work without any deposit required. It also has an “A+” rating with the Better Business Bureau.
The company primarily does residential projects.
“We have the top certifications in both siding and roofing,” he said.
The company works on a wide range of other projects, such as kitchens, masonry, carpentry, insulation, windows and gutters. In addition to 40 full-time employees, Tittle employs more than 200 contractors and subcontractors, all experts in their fields.
The business is truly a family affair — Tittle’s wife, Carrie, does the accounting and his brother, Kevin, is head of operations. “I enjoy knowing I’m delivering the best quality products to the community,” Greg Tittle said. “We really take care of our customers as opposed to taking shortcuts. I like seeing a job from start to finish.”
He personally checks on various jobs daily and visits customers on site to ensure that things are going smoothly.
“We take the worry out of our customers’ hands,” he said.
